Schools

Education is of the utmost importance for the citizens of Manistee County.  An emphasis on quality education is a fundamental part of the educational philosophy maintained by each school in each district. The schools cultivate excellence across the board by supporting students and keeping parents informed.

The Manistee Manufacturers' Council has made connecting local industry with educational programs a priority within their organization's mission.  The schools have opportunities to develop classes and curriculum to incorporate speakers from the local manufacturers, as well as field trips to specific manufacturers' facilities.

Manistee Intermediate School District services Manistee County schools; including Bear Lake, Kaleva Norman Dickson, Manistee Area Public Schools, Onekama Consolidated, Manistee Catholic Central, Trinity Lutheran Schools and one Public School Academy--CASMAN Academy.  The ISD also works in consortium with many of the local service agencies to provide valuable opportunities for the children of Manistee County.
