COMMENTS INVITED ON SIX DESIGN
CONCEPTS FOR MANISTEE LAKE
Manistee, Michigan – Opinions about six design concepts for property surrounding Manistee Lake are invited by the Alliance for Economic Success through Friday, February 29, 2008.
On February 13, 2008, the six design concepts were reviewed at a community forum by Warren Rauhe, director of the Michigan State University Small Town Design Initiative. Rauhe and his MSU team are seeking input prior to returning to Manistee in May 2008 with refined design concepts that will reflect opinions, comments and ideas from the community.
The study is being supported by the Alliance for Economic Success to involve the community in assessing development options for the future of properties around Manistee Lake.
The six design concepts, all intended to stimulate ideas, suggestions and preferences about the future, are entitled:
Alternative 1: Preserve and Enhance
Alternative 2: Extend Current Growth Patterns
Alternative 3: Mixed Use and Public Access
Alternative 4: “Condo’s Gone Wild”
Alternative 5: Cluster Development and Open Space
Alternative 6: New Economy
