PARKS NAMED FELLOW OF AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVES
Burt Parks, president of West Shore Medical center, recently earned the distinction of board certification in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Fellow status represents achievement of the highest standard of professional development. In fact, only 7,500 healthcare executives hold this distinction. To obtain fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits, and demonstrating professional/community involvement. Fellows are committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recertification every three years.
Parks has served as president of West Shore Medical Center since 1983. Prior to joining West Shore, Mr. Parks served as vice president of operations at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. He is a graduate of Michigan State University.
