MANISTEE’S NORTHPOINT PRECISION INDUSTRIES JOINS
MANISTEE MANUFACTURERS’ COUNCIL

Manistee, Michigan – The addition of a new and flourishing business to a powerhouse council of Manistee manufacturers underscores the fact that manufacturing in Manistee County is alive, well and getting stronger.

The Manistee Manufacturers’ Council announced today that Northpoint Precision Industries, a manufacturer of highly technical fixtures and tooling as well as high volume parts for automotive, military and aerospace industries, has become their newest member.

The Manistee Manufacturers’ Council was formed in 2004 to improve community understanding of manufacturing businesses and processes and to encourage the growth and development of manufacturing as an economic mainstay and provider of jobs in Manistee County.

Other Council members include: Packaging Corporation of America, Martin-Marietta Magnesia Specialties, Morton Salt, TES Filer City and Fab-Lite. Collectively, they employ over 700 people with an average wage of $20 per hour.

“We look forward to contributing to the momentum that the Manufacturers’ Council is building to ensure that manufacturing continues its upward trend in the county,” said Martin Nelson Jr., President and CEO of Northpoint Precision Industries. “We need to continue to partner with all community interests to realize our full economic and job creation potential while sustaining the high quality of life that the county provides. We need people that want to work and have job skills and we need an environment that facilitates business growth and investment and job creation. The Council offers an effective forum for building that partnership.”

“The Manufacturers’ Council also provides an opportunity for shared learning among member businesses,” said Steve Paine, President and CEO of Fab-Lite, a Manistee-based manufacturer of office furniture. “Northpoint Precision Industries has demonstrated what many already know: that Manistee is a great place for a manufacturing business to grow and prosper. We look forward to learning about Northpoint Precision’s successes and opportunities and to welcoming them to a cadre of strong and growing manufacturers that are vital to the continued positive trends in Manistee County.”
